THHN THWN Wire
THHN/THBN is the most commonly used 600V, PVC insulated and nylon sheathed single core copper wire in North America, with the core difference being temperature and moisture resistance levels; THHN/THWN-2 dual rating is the most common in the market, which can be used for both dry and wet purposes at the same time

Application
THHN/THWN Conductors are primarily used in conduit for services, feeder and branch circuits in commercial or industrial applications as specified in the National Electrical Code. For the type THHN, conductor is suitable for use in dry locations at temperatures not to exceed 90ºC. As for the type THWN,conductor is suitable in wet or dry locations at temperatures not to exceed 90ºC in dry locations or 75ºC in wet locations or not to wxceed 75ºC when exposed to oil or coolant. Conductor temperatures are not to exceed 105ºC in dry locations when rated AWM, which is used as appliance wiring material. Voltage rating for all applications in 600 volts.
Applicable standards
U183, UL1581
Construction
- Conductor:copper,aliminum,aluminum alloy, CCA
- Insulation:flame retardant PVC(polyvinyl chloride).
- Jacket:tough polyamide nylon,It is also resistant to oil ,gasoline and heat-resistant thermoplastic insulation with a jacket of extruded nylon or equivalent material. The wire is rated 90ºC dry only.
- 1:THHN:It indicates a single or stranded conductor having flame-retardant and heat-resistant thermoplastic insulation with a jacket of extruded nylon or equivalent material. The wire is rated 90ºC dry only.
- 2:It indicates a single or stranded conductor having flame-retardant,moisture and heat-resistant thermoplastic insulation with a jacket of extruded nylon or equivalent. The Wire is rated 75ºC wet or 90 ºC dry.
